<p>I have previously posted these two questions:</p>
<p><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/q/405964/222252">Which civlizations are most and least likely to go for religion?</a></p>
<p><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/q/405811/222252">How to quickly find natural wonder?</a></p>
<p>Both of these had the same goal, which is to ensure that I get a prophet before it's too late. Now, I have found an answer that answers Y, but it does not really fit to any of those questions since they ask X. In other words, it's an <a href="https://meta.stackexchange.com/q/66377/374458">XY-problem.</a> Should I just create a new question or what should I do?</p>

https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/1700713What, if any, policy changes should we make to account for the recent changes to the AUP regarding sexually explicit content?Nzallhttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/691662024-01-27T10:33:35Z2024-02-13T05:51:10Z
<p><a href="https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/396252/updates-to-the-acceptable-use-policy-aup-january-2024">The Acceptable Use Policy has been updated.</a> Among other changes, it now allows sexually explicit content in certain circumstances:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><strong>Sexually Explicit Material.</strong> You may not post content, or links to content, that is sexually explicit in nature, unless it falls within a reasonable interpretation of a Network site’s scope and purpose. However, you may never post content portraying the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors. For the sake of clarity, sexually explicit content is “material that is explicitly sexual, pornographic, prurient, or lascivious in nature,” as defined in our Code of Conduct.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>With regards to this, I think there are 2 things to be discussed here:</p>
<ol>
<li>Does sexually explicit content "fall within a reasonable interpretation of Arqade's scope and purpose"? Put differently: do we want to allow questions regarding adult games?</li>
<li>If the answer to the above is yes: what rules do we want to introduce to avoid accidentally showing pornography to minors? Remember that this site is still considered 13+.</li>

https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/170064Can I ask about a game in regards to a console or system?SlightlyPsychotichttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/3103652024-01-27T06:20:48Z2024-01-29T18:56:29Z
<p>Say I want to ask a question about whether <em>Rainworld</em>, a game famed for being incredibly difficult, is good on the Switch, due to the console's limited accuracy (unlike the PC, which has high accuracy). Alternatively, I could ask if it's harder on the Switch than the PC, to the point where it's hard to play and have fun with.</p>
<p>(By 'good', I mean if the game is playable on the Switch without being hard enough that it's only really playable on the PC, due to the PC being much more powerful than consoles are.)</p>
<p>Could I ask these or similar questions on the main Arqade Q&A site?</p>

https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/1699962023: a year in moderationJNathttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/410702024-01-24T16:30:42Z2024-01-28T07:03:16Z
<p>It’s that time of the year again! As we wave goodbye to last year and welcome the new one, we have <a href="https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/search?q=%22year+in+moderation%22+is%3Aquestion">a tradition of sharing moderation stats for the preceding calendar year</a>.</p>
<p>As most of you here might be aware, sites on the Stack Exchange network are moderated somewhat differently to other sites on the web:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>We designed the Stack Exchange network engine to be mostly self-regulating, in that we amortize the overall moderation cost of the system across thousands of teeny-tiny slices of effort contributed by regular, everyday users.<br />
-- <a href="http://blog.stackoverflow.com/2009/05/a-theory-of-moderation/">A Theory of Moderation</a></p>
</blockquote>
<p>That doesn't eliminate the need for having <a href="https://stackoverflow.blog/2018/11/21/our-theory-of-moderation-re-visited/">moderators</a> altogether, but it does mean that the bulk of moderation work is carried out by regular folks — folks like you. Every bit of time and effort y'all contribute to the site gives you access to more privileges you can use to help in this effort, all of which produce a cumulative effect that makes a big difference in ensuring Stack Exchange sites remain a valuable source of high-quality content on the web.</p>
<p>So as we say goodbye to 2023 (and January 2024… ahem) and move into 2024, let us look back at what we accomplished as a community... by looking at some <a href="https://i.stack.imgur.com/pmN7M.gif" rel="nofollow noreferrer"><em>exciting</em> stats</a>. <p>¹ This refers to the automated systems otherwise known as <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/users/-1">user #-1</a>.</p>
<p>² This refers to <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/users">the membership of Arqade</a> <em>without</em> <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/users?tab=moderators">diamonds next to their names</a>.</p>
<p>³ The system will suspend users under three circumstances: when a user is recreated after being previously suspended, when a user is recreated after being destroyed for spam or abuse, and when a network-wide suspension is in effect on an account.</p>
<p>⁴ A "destroyed" user is deleted along with all that they had posted: questions, answers, comments. <a href="https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/88994/what-is-the-difference-between-a-deleted-user-and-a-destroyed-user">Generally used as an expedient way of getting rid of spam.</a></p>
<p>⁵ This counts every review that was submitted (not skipped) - so the 2 suggested edits reviews needed to approve an edit would count as 2, the goal being to indicate the frequency of moderation actions. This also applies to flags, etc.</p>
<p>⁶ Includes close flags (but <em>not</em> close or reopen votes). The community² can handle these flags by at least one person voting to close a question that has a close flag.</p>
<p>⁷ This ignores numerous deletions that happen automatically in response to some other action.</p>
<p>⁸ This includes comments deleted by their own authors (which also account for some number of handled comment flags).</p>

<p>I'd like to propose renaming the tag for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky from <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/trails-in-the-sky-fc" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'trails-in-the-sky-fc'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'trails-in-the-sky-fc'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-trails-in-the-sky-fc-tooltip-container">trails-in-the-sky-fc</a> to <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky-tooltip-container">legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky</a>.</p>
<p>The FC title was apparently only used for the Japanese release. There was talk of <a href="https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/12586/merge-request-for-the-legend-of-heroes?rq=1#comment40321_12586">lengthening the tag in the past</a>, but it never seems to have happened.</p>

<p>The tags for <em>Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six</em> games use a mix of <code>rainbow-six</code> and <code>rainbow-6</code>.</p>

https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/169762Should Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077 2.0/2.1 tags?Journeyman Geekhttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/118732023-12-19T00:07:27Z2023-12-19T00:23:42Z
<p>Cyberpunk 2.0 and 2.1 added some major changes to the base game of Cyberpunk 2077.</p>
<p>There's <em>significant</em> changes - the crafting and hacking/netrunning mechanics have had revamps, there's entirely different skill trees and vehicular combat is different. There's also the metro system in 2.1. Essentially while the 'story' and missions are not changed, the gameplay mechanics are often going to be different from when one plays cyberpunk 1.x.</p>
<p>You can, in theory download 'older' builds of cyberpunk so if you want to play the 'older' builds of the game its plausible - not sure why though, considering the 'reputation' it had</p>
<p>Phantom Liberty getting its own tag for its DLC content makes sense.
Should we be updating cyberpunk 1.x questions for 2.0 or giving 2.0/2/1 its own tag?</p>

<p>As a reminder, we're always accepting suggestions for themed weeks, and have compiled that suggestion process into a <a href="//meta.arqade.com/q/15029">question of its own</a>. Additionally, there is the <a href="//meta.arqade.com/q/14939">hall of fame</a> you can check out that contains all the previous contest winners.</p>
https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/168436Petition to slightly alter how we handle early Pokémon game tags (Gen 1 and Gen 2)Robotnikhttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/281822023-07-28T00:35:42Z2024-02-01T05:03:52Z
<p>As established in <a href="https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/6957/28182">Pokemon tag problems (Gotta Tag 'Em All)</a>, we handle Pokémon main series game tags in the following manner:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Generation Tag:</strong> e.g. <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-third-generation" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-third-generation'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-third-generation'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-third-generation-tooltip-container">pokemon-third-generation</a> - For questions about the 3th generation of games, that aren't specific about any individual game.</li>
<li><strong>Game Tags</strong>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-ruby-sapphire-emerald" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-ruby-sapphire-emerald'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-ruby-sapphire-emerald'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-ruby-sapphire-emerald-tooltip-container">pokemon-ruby-sapphire-emerald</a> - for questions about Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald specifically</li>
<li><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-fire-red-leaf-green" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-fire-red-leaf-green'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-fire-red-leaf-green'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-fire-red-leaf-green-tooltip-container">pokemon-fire-red-leaf-green</a> - for questions about Pokémon Fire Red or Pokémon Leaf Green specifically</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>This is generally great and works well for our format, we haven't had any major issues with this (barring one <a href="https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/16143/28182">tag length issue</a>).</p>
<p><strong>However</strong> something about this has irked me for years - the first two generations of Pokémon games do not have a secondary set of games, or a 'different story' split to necessitate a "generation vs game name" tag split. Thus, for these cases, the generation tag is the <em>only</em> tag for these games. i.e.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-first-generation" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-first-generation'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-first-generation'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-first-generation-tooltip-container">pokemon-first-generation</a><br />
Synonyms: <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-red" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-red-tooltip-container">pokemon-red</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-blue" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-blue'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-blue'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-blue-tooltip-container">pokemon-blue</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-yellow" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-yellow'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-yellow'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-yellow-tooltip-container">pokemon-yellow</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-green" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-green'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-green'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-green-tooltip-container">pokemon-green</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-rby" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-rby'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-rby'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-rby-tooltip-container">pokemon-rby</a> <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-1st-generation" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-1st-generation'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-1st-generation'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-1st-generation-tooltip-container">pokemon-1st-generation</a></p>
</li>
<li><p><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-second-generation" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-second-generation'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-second-generation'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-second-generation-tooltip-container">pokemon-second-generation</a><br />
Synonyms: <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-gold" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gold'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gold'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-gold-tooltip-container">pokemon-gold</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-silver" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-silver'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-silver'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-silver-tooltip-container">pokemon-silver</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-crystal" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-crystal'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-crystal'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-crystal-tooltip-container">pokemon-crystal</a>, <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-gsc" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gsc'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gsc'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-gsc-tooltip-container">pokemon-gsc</a> <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-2nd-generation" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-2nd-generation'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-2nd-generation'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-2nd-generation-tooltip-container">pokemon-2nd-generation</a></p>
</li>
</ul>
<p>I personally think this makes these tags harder to use. For every other game on the site, including later Pokémon generation games, the game names still exist as a full tag, and thus I think it would be better we used <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green-tooltip-container">pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green</a> and <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-gold-silver-crystal" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gold-silver-crystal'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-gold-silver-crystal'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-gold-silver-crystal-tooltip-container">pokemon-gold-silver-crystal</a> as the main tags (leaving all the same synonyms in place). In other words:</p>
<ul>
<li><p><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="tag-pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green-tooltip-container">pokemon-red-blue-yellow-green</a><br />

<p>What do you think? Does this make sense?</p>
https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/165852Should the "Which games use a neural network to influence gameplay?" question be reopened?galacticninjahttps://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/47972022-11-02T00:50:18Z2023-12-14T04:07:50Z
<p>Recently, the question, <strong><a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/q/399931/4797">Which games use a neural network to influence game play?</a></strong> was <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/review/close/320632">closed as an off-topic game identification question</a> and <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/review/reopen/320658">left closed in the Reopen review queue</a>.</p>
<p>Should it be reopened?</p>
<p>I don't think that it is an off-topic game identification question. It's not the "I remember this thing about a game, what game was it"? type of game identification question that we close as off-topic here. I believe the close reason was used incorrectly. It's more similar to other on-topic <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/gaming-history" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'gaming-history'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'gaming-history'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="gaming-history-container">gaming-history</a> questions on this site.</p>
<p>As for the question asking for a list or its topic broadness, I think a question should be closed for that reason <em>only</em> if it is asking for an unbounded or open-ended list, or a very large list of items, which is not the case for this specific question. According to <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/tour">Arqade's site tour</a>, one shouldn't ask about:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Questions with too many possible answers or that would require an extremely long answer</p>
</blockquote>
<p>I don't think the question fits that criteria. Several positively-received <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/gaming-history" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'gaming-history'" aria-label="show questions tagged 'gaming-history'" rel="tag" aria-labelledby="gaming-history-container">gaming-history</a> questions actually have multiple games in the answers.</p>
<p>Related meta post about a similar list-type question where the community voted to reopen: <a href="https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/6887/4797">Why was my question about games in a compilation closed?</a></p>
<hr />
<p>Also, I concur with @pppery's comment regarding moderator actions on a disputed question:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Also note the question was closed by a moderator acting doubly (meaning it would have taken two community members without diamonds to close the question) despite having passed the close vote queue, and then left closed again by the same moderator acting doubly. This sort of question is not the right time for moderators to use their moderator powers. [...]</p>

https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/q/98474Can we get a Lightbox (click to enlarge) for images?user28015https://gaming.meta.stackexchange.com/users/02014-08-07T02:52:01Z2024-01-24T04:41:59Z
<p>I always have to right-click and open a new tab to see an image in it's full resolution. Since we are a gaming site, screenshots are quite common and often used.</p>
<p>I would really like if the developers could give us a light-box that can enlarge the images linked inside the browser. There are plenty of free implementations on the web, so this would be a minimal effort to include it into Stack Exchange.</p>

<p>Both links are broken, leading to a 404 error page. <p>I was looking at <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/6065/where-can-i-train-my-pokemon-in-heartgold-soulsilver-after-kanto">this question</a> and got worried, should I remove those two extra tags (<a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/soul-silver" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'soul-silver'" rel="tag">soul-silver</a> <a href="https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/heart-gold" class="post-tag" title="show questions tagged 'heart-gold'" rel="tag">heart-gold</a>)? So I asked in <a href="http://chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/8369544#8369544">chat</a> and got a good point from StrixVaria:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Pokemon is all messed up. There's a tag for Pokemon-fourth-gen but
this question doesn't apply to all the 4th-gen games, just the 2nd gen
remakes that are on the 4th gen engine. If you look through Pokemon
questions in general you'll find a lot of tagging issues.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>And I think he is right. Pokemon should have a proper resolution so we could "fix" the questions without worry. So:</p>
<p>How should we treat the tags in those questions?</p>

<p>The last 2 times I've tried using the suggested edit review queue, it's been doing some weird things for me. On a bad edit, I would fill out the reject pop-up, hit reject, and then nothing. I'm not advanced to the next item in the queue, and the 4 buttons remain active at the top.</p>
<p>I'm fairly certain that my reviews are being acted upon, so hitting skip accomplishes the task, but I'm receiving negative feedback, which in this case is worse than no feedback at all.</p>
